前身為 Foxmarks 的 Xmarks 前天宣佈服務將會在 2011-01-10 完結﹐到時所有資料將會被刪除。

這個消息於我來說非常震撼﹐ Xmarks 在我心中的地位已等同 noScript, Adblock Plus 和 Downthemall﹐是 Firefox 必需的 Add-on﹐有時甚至覺得這些功能本應該是內置才對﹐尤其是 Downthemall 和 Xmarks。雖然 Firefox 有 Firefox Sync（前身為的 Weave）﹐但成熟度還不足以取代 Xmarks﹐至少要像 Xmarks 般有 Profile 才算合格﹐加上現在 Firefox Sync 還在大改﹐很多時候都不能夠成功同步。

一直用開 Xmarks 來同步 Google Chrome 和 Firefox 之間的 Bookmarks﹐現在苦無替代品﹐畢竟 Google 和 Firefox 的 Bookmark Sync 應該永遠都不能打通。
